Donetsk National Medical University of M. Gorky is owned by the Government of Ukraine and is listed in the WHO and IMED directories. Students interested in working in US, UK, Canada, Australia, India etc., are eligible to give the USMLE or PLAB or MCI Screening test after graduating from Ukraine. By the same token they will be eligible for the competency tests in Nigeria, Ghana, Pakistan, Singapore, UAE etc.

According to Webometrics-2011 Universities Rating in the World Donetsk National Medical University of M. Gorky is the best among all Medical Universities of Ukraine.

DonNMU offers MD/MBBs Medical education in English medium for ALL 6 years for international students. Those who choose to study in the Ukrainian and in Russian medium first enroll in a one year local language course and then study medicine.

The Medical Course takes 6 years. Entry requirement is 12 years of schooling with science or “A” level or equivalent. If you have "O" level then you join a preparatory course for one year and then join the 6 year medical program. The Degree offered is MD or “Doctor of Medicine” which is equal to the MBBS Degree in India, UK, Australia and other countries.

Donetsk National Medical University has been one of the leading and best medical universities in Ukraine. All the alumni can testify to the fact it has trained professional doctors who are practicing in various Countries in the World with the qualified with experienced professors and tutors. My personal contribution to the University is that we should continue to upgrade the school's library with medical books in various languages, admit students who are ready to learn and workhard to set high standards and maintain it. The knowledge acquired from the Professors is outstanding and is been recognised by all who passed through our alma mater. To end it the need for exchange programmes will help the University to integrate and learn also from other Universities in the World. God bless DNMU. Vive Vive Alma Mater!
